Freeze-dried bloodworm (Chironomidae larvae) is a natural food for reptiles including aquatic turtles and amphibians. Bloodworms are very eagerly eaten by the reptiles and amphibians and are a source of easily-assimilable protein. As fresh or frozen blood worms can be the source of dangerous pathogens, we used freeze-drying technique, which effectively eliminates all pathogenic substances, but retains delicate vitamins, unsaturated fatty acids, protein and other valuable substances.
